The HUB Housing Co-op was started in 2005 by a bunch of Chicago cyclists. We're a fun, yet responsible group. Sam and I are finally leaving the co-op, and our sweet studio unit is for sale. I say "sweet" because it has a cork floor, giant soaking tub, and skylights. The co-op is a great way to own property cooperatively (so your responsibility is less), and to live with friends. And it's right on the boulevard, which now has a protected bike lane.

While replacing a shifter cable yesterday I discovered that the cable was dripping wet from Saturday's rain storm. I purged the water by squirting WD40 into the empty cable housing by simply pressing the red straw tube against the cable housing end. I achieved my goal but wasted a lot of WD40 in the process. Anyone have a better solution to purge water from an empty cable housing?

Hi Chainlink.
Three of us friends, directly involved in advocacy for people with mental illness, will be riding 1200 miles from Chicago to Washington DC in the name of supportive housing leaving May 1st. This is for a really good and personal cause.
We are talking to legislators and seeking funding for services that go hand-in-hand with the supportive housing that exists for people with mental illness. I know several people who have thrived with the stability that this housing can provide. I consider that someday I may need to use this type of housing. But the quality is nowhere near the level of where it should or could be here in Illinois. For reasons such as this, people with mental illness can be in situations at home with aging parents who can't provide the right assistance or in places such as nursing homes, Seems weird doesn't it? The funding for our project will come mostly from state and federal funds. This is why we need support to take to the legislators.
Though we admit a tour is 100% our idea of a good time, we are doing this to serve this purpose. I sought out the couple I am riding with after hearing what they were planning to do. They are very cool people and know alot about the ins and outs of this service.
If you have any questions, msg me or I can get you in touch with the other couple. We are also looking for people who can share their experiences so that we can take them to Capitol Hill.

-Nate M
http://www.housingtaskforce.org/index.html

I need cool bike people to room withtag:thechainlink.org,2010-03-03:2211490:Topic:1607882010-03-03T01:47:03.235ZBloody Malthhttps://thechainlink.org/profile/BloodyMalth

I want to pay around 400 for my share, but I can pay more if its the greatest apartment ever, or the people are stunning paragons of humanity, or something like that. Location is not really important, I'll just bike to wherever I need to go. I have regular employment at a bar, and my drug consumption is pretty much limited to alcohol, except for special occasions like weddings and bat mitzvahs.

I know that everyone says "I'm pretty laid back...", and while I would probably never be described that way, I do get along with just about everybody. Side effect of my job. Most of my friends are geeks, artists, bartenders, or some horrible mutation of all three. I have the interests you would expect from someone with those friends, y'know: Milan Kundera, Umberto Eco, Lee Bontecou, wine, mixology, R.L. Burnside, The Pack A.D., zombies, werewolves, and pre-wussy era vampires.

I don't really care what your gender, race, sexual preference, or age is, though you may include such things if it makes you feel accomplished*. What does matter is what your favorite drink is, and who would win in a no-holds barred brawl between Cpt. Crunch and Cookie Crisp (please explain why).

*This may matter to you however, so I am a straight white/hispanic 32 year old male. I hope some one responds.
