When the driver saw me stopped behind his truck (myself in the bike lane, with my bike) he became immediately confrontational and charged at me with a long crowbar in hand, raised above his head, clearly indicating his intent to attack me with it. I made a prompt departure and have reached out to McGrath, including photos and license plate info. I’ll keep you guys informed if I hear from them.

The Brompton has been used ultra minimally. Has never, ever seen adverse weather. Home kept and mainly utilized as a beautiful aesthetic piece.

The bike (in Chicago at JC Lind Bike Co.) costs $1,694.01. Chicago tax is 10%, which adds $169.40. A BWR (Brompton Wide Range Sturmey Archer Hub, with 302% gear range) was installed, the complete wheel costing $239.99. The Schwalbe Marathon tires with reflective strips cost $49.99 each. The Brompton rear tail light cost $29.99. The Brompton Eazy Wheel set cost $24.99. The Brompton firm suspension block has been discontinued by the manufacturer, but is very nice. The Brooks B17 leather saddle (Honey) cost $90.95. The Brooks Cambium grips cost $40 flat.

Totals out to $2,389.31.

I live in Ludington, Michigan. I’ll be shipping the Brommie via BikeFlights. Some other cool extras you get are the Brompton air pump (clips onto the bike), as well as a seat post capable to be used by people of the taller genetic makeup (I’m 6’0 and I fit perfectly).

1st Note: if I receive offers, I will take up to $75 off the cost. But, I will also keep the Brooks B17 Leather Saddle (Honey).

2nd note: The Brompton is used. It does show some signs of wear.

See Salsa's archive for all the details, but this has an aluminum frame, versatile 2x drivetrain with SRAM x5 components, avid disk brakes, etc. It's Salsa's "racy" fat bike, and that was what drew me to it in the first place. It just rode better, and felt faster and more responsive, than all the other fat bikes I tried. It worked great in snow, was excellent even as a summer mountain bike, and has been just an all-round blast to own and ride.

Retail was $1600. Asking $900.

See attached photos. If interested, please respond or message me.
Knowing the upgrade was coming, members of the Round Lake Area Bicycle Club started early, attending the Zoning meetings where the remodeling was discussed, convinced the village and ALDI Project Manager w/plenty of photos that cyclists DID shop at that store and that bicycle parking was both justified and essential (almost 30,000 residents in our village!), and provided several documents showing what made for good (and bad) retail bike parking.

After the experiences with the new Meijer (itty-bitty non-supportive "Wave" rack) and a re-modeled Jewel-Osco (Undersized "Comb" or schoolyard style rack, mounted too close to a wall)... we thought we'd finally get a Home Run here.

This store NEVER puts out "Seasonal Merchandise" like pallets of mulch, Halloween Pumpkins, firewood, etc. Otherwise, we could >almost< understand why the bike rack wasn't place closer to the entrance.

Well, at least they provided a good type of rack, and the location is easily and inexpensively expandable when we show over time that more is needed. The "kicker" is that they cut down a tree which formerly provided the only secure attachment point, so our net gain of parking spots is zero (although the "Staple" design provides more physical support).

"One step at a time"... right?
WTB - Burley Kazoo or Piccolo Kids Trailer Biketag:thechainlink.org,2017-10-25:2211490:Topic:10806182017-10-25T16:49:22.777Zadhttps://thechainlink.org/profile/AdrianRohrer
