This trail has its own website, but trail conditions are on the Rails to Trails site. This is a super easy ride and is fun for anyone who can make a 30 mile flat nature ride.

This trail extends from South Beloit, IL to west of Harvard, IL. Main trail reference is on the Rails to Trails page. I recommend reading comments there as well if you want to travel the trail.

Concerns the trail that, at least in spirit, extends from Freeport, IL to just outside of Rockford, IL. I'm relatively new to Chicagoland, so any corrections welcome.
