brett, did you initially comment about leaving later and then delete it?!  i was excited about the possibility of a later departure time... but when i went to agree it was gone! :)

I mean "stiff" tailwind. A "still" tailwind would mean no wind I suppose.

Looks like we will have a nice, still tailwind tomorrow which will make for some easy riding. Also the possible rain (if it happens at all) is supposed to be light and won't arrive until the evening (well after camp is set up). I am still definitely in.

Shay, I know you have a too much to do this weekend to go camping, but if it ends up that you have the time I have a very large rain slicker made to be used as a tarp or foot print, a rain slicker or even a tent.  You are of course welcome to borrow it.  Just PM Melonie or myself before 6:30am.  Just my 2 cents regarding meetup time and place,... I think that we should keep it at Lawrence and California at 7am, just because that's what it's been all along.  It will mean a little back tracking for Melanie and I but it will be easier for the group organizer to do a head count and easier to travel and less likely to get lost if we move as a group.  Just IMO.

We can be at Devon & McCormick, but what time to meet up? Or do we all just go on our own. Liz, Cameron-I would like to bike with you guys.

North Shore Channel Trail- you can connect to it via several methods-Rob and I might pick it up on the corner of Devon and McCormick as we live near that way- or Lawrence and California, which is nearer the start of the trail and runs through River Park. I think the group is going for the Lawrence and California meet-up at 7:00am; but I do not have confirmation on that yet.

The North Shore Channel Trail is an 8 mile paved path from Lawrence Avenue in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood to Green Bay Road in Evanston.

Heading north from Lawrence the path runs under Foster, Bryn Mawr, and Peterson, continues to Devon and then picks up the McCormmick Boulevard Path.

How are you guys going North from the city? I would like to meet up since I live up North in the Roger's Park Neighborhood.

I'm in the same boat as Iggi.  I also don't have a footprint or tarp and the ground is still awfully wet.  I can't wait for the weather to get warmer and drier and I'll be in like flint, kids.
