Description

This is a re-ride of our March Neighborhood tour. The ride was originally held on Sunday March 29, a little over a week after the start of spring. As fate would have it, it snowed that night, and the next day. Five people called to see if we were still riding, and though I told them "Yes...we ride in any weather", none of the five showed up.

On the other hand, Calvin, Bryan, Mike, Ryan and I had a great time.

Since then, a few people have expressed interest in doing this ride again, and I have to say, this area is an absolutely great section of Chicago to ride through, and it remains largely unknown to many.

So we're going riding!

The Tour of Forest Glen Redux will take place
Saturday April 18, 2009
1:00 PM

At the Indian Road Woods Forest Preserve

The ride is free and since it isn't one of our regularly scheduled rides, we will do it at a quicker pace of roughly 15-20 mph and only 12-15 narrated stops.

If you aren't familiar with the Forest Glen area, it is a great way to get to know it. We'll ride through forest preserves and parks, and see some of the most beautiful examples of residential architecture in the city and even take a ride down Chicago's newest bike trail. The tour is only 15 miles.

Below are some pictures of various stops along the route. Hopefully some folks are up for some riding!

Cheers all! - Lee

I have an idea.....the next time anyone sees any areas afflicted by drought, bring me in to plan and host a bike-tour. It is a near guarantee that the skies will subsequently fill with clouds and rain will pour from the heavens.

On that note, it is expeted to be quite wet on our re-ride of Forest Glen. Cheers and remember, we ride in all weather!
