Description

Since 2005 Arlington Heights Bicycle Club has participated in the international Ride of Silence on the third Wednesday evening in May.   This year is no different, we will congregate at Recreation Park, 500 E Miner at 630pm.     The Ride honors those who have been killed or injured while cycling.  It is a slow paced and as the name suggests a silent ride.   Ride will commence at 7pm after a few words about the reasons we participate.

We encourage all cyclists to participate, we often have between 60 and 100 riders.  The Arlington Heights Police Department helps us lead the ride through the city.  As in past years, everyone is invited, so please invite your neighbors and friends to participate.  It is really quite a nice memorial and reminder to the public that we share the roads.

There are several other rides in Illinois the same date and time.  If you are not in Arlington Heights consider joining one of the other rides. See rideofsilence.org for details.
