1.) Benito Jaurez Park Plaza: Introduction to the tour by Joe Allen & Rory Fanning.  Jorge Mujica will be speaking on Pilsen as a center for immigrant rights’ activism.
2.) Dvorak Park at May and Cermak: Jerry Mead will speak on the successful decade long struggle to close the Fisk and Crawford coal plants.
3.) 1922 South Halsted: Trish Kahle will be speaking on “The Uprising of the Women Garment Workers in Chicago.”
4.) Chess Records at 2120 S. Michigan: Alex Billet will be speaking on “What you don’t know about your favorite Blues performers.”
5.) Chicago Defender building at 24th & Michigan Ave: Bill Mullen will be speaking on Langston Hughes and the Chicago Defender.
6.) The Traveler Monument at 26th & MLK Drive: Richard Wright and the Great Migration by Bill Mullen.
7.) Battle of Ft. Dearborn Park 18th & Calumet: Paul D’Amato will be speaking on “What Happened to Native Chicago.”
8.) Balbo Monument behind Soldier Field at the lakeshore bike path: Ryan Nanni will be speaking on “Why do we have a fascist monument in Chicago?”
9.) Hilton Hotel at Balbo & Michigan Ave: Bill and Deborah Roberts will be speaking on “What really happened in 1968?”
10.) The Picasso at Daley Plaza: Annie Zirin will be speaking on “Picasso.”
11.) Haymarket Monument at Randolph & Des Plaines: Sharon Smith will be speaking on “The Legacy of the Haymarket Martyrs.”
12.) University of Illinois at Chicago at Harrison & Halsted: Wayne Heimbach will be speaking on “When UIC was Red.”
13.) National Public Housing Museum at 1322-24 West Taylor: Rory Fanning will be speaking on “What happened to public housing in Chicago”
14.) Where American Communism was born at Roosevelt & Blue Island: Joe Allen will be speaking the founding of the U.S. Communist movement.

 

Followed by Cookout in Pilsen! Location to be announced.
