Description

Free - Open Streets Chicago on Saturday, September 8 and Sunday September 16

Join Open Streets Chicago in the Loop on September 8 and in Wicker Park Bucktown September 16. Come experience these landmark Chicago neighborhoods when they’re transformed into urban playgrounds 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Open Streets will close streets to car traffic and open them up for healthy recreation including biking, running, yoga classes, skate parks, interactive playgrounds and climbing walls. There will be dancing, a variety of games for adults and kids, a street photo booth and opportunities to test your balance on a slackline.

In the Loop, the 13-block long event will be held on State Street between Lake and Van Buren Streets, and Monroe Street between State Street and Lake Shore Drive. In Wicker Park Bucktown, the 15-block long event will be held on Milwaukee Avenue between Ashland and Western Avenues.

Open Streets Chicago is brought to you by the Active Transportation Alliance in partnership with Chicago Loop Alliance and Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber Special Service Area.

Strange... didn't hear about this until I read tomorrow's calendar listings just now.

I'll be bringing the Saturday Morning Bike Crew in from Blue Island!  We are expecting about 10 kids.  :-D

I'll be working on Van Buren and State at 11, so I'll definitely be on this road.
