Description

No, this isn't about making direct amends to the people we've harmed whenever doing so is possible and won't injure them or others.

It's about trying to ride to Three Floyds every month this year! Now there's a consistent schedule -- the 4th Saturday of every month -- others have opportunities to lead (I can't make it every time), and you can qualify for the F-12 Award.

September is National Century Month, so this step is a century -- if you ride enough extra to and from the start. The ride takes the lakefront trail south from the Clock Tower. You can join up anywhere along the trail. Just let the group know where so they can look for you.

35 miles to Three Floyds + 10 miles to Flossmoor Station = 45 miles. Take the Metra Electric home or ride another 30 miles to Brixie's = 75 miles. Take the BNSF home or ride another 20 miles to Revolution, West Lakeview, and back to the clock tower = 95 miles. 15-18 mph. Bring money, government-issued ID, a lock, lights since we're staying out late, water and snacks to have en route, and panniers for beer you can't get where you usually shop.

Online resources: Google map, cue sheet, conversation about this ride, Metra Electric Flossmoor schedule, BNSF Brookfield schedule, Metra rules, and, to save a minute at the start, the nifty online CCC waiver.

Got it.  15-18 sounds good.  19-20 sounds excessive.  Hopefully I won't be hungover like last time.

15-18 mph. the main thing is to get there before they open. it's the third-best brewery in the world, so sometimes there's a line.

What pace are you shooting for on the way down?

@Deet of course you're free to zoom ahead at any time  :-)

did you know you can get total elevation gain via Google Maps?

back in the city = within the city limits, or finished? i'd say finished is unlikely since 3f opens at noon. but 4 stops @ 45 min. each + 60 miles @ 20 mph would do it!

I am liking the century option, any chance we could shoot to be back in the city around 6?
