Description

Volunteers at local advocacy groups are working to get more people on bikes by lobbying for bicycle facilities and sponsoring events.  We will hear about the work of 3 groups: David Simmons will bring us up to speed on the activities of Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove whose mission is to promote, support, and improve cycling in Elk Grove;  Vickie Jacobsen will share the direction of Go Evanston, an organization to help people walk and bike more and drive less; Elizabeth Adamczyk will lead us on a virtual Ride of Silence which has for 17 years at hundreds of locations around the world honored those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.   This is the monthly meeting of the Evanston Bicycle Club.  The meeting is free of charge and all are welcome.
