UPDATE

(7/12/12)

Thank you so much for making the ride a success.  We had so many participants we ran out of food!  With donations from Anshe Emet and Moishe House and your contributions we now have money for food, printing, etc. for our a future ride.

- Map/flyer of the last Sunday's ride is here
- We had some great write ups before and after our ride. Kathy Schubert said she saw us on Channel 7 news, and both OnIslam and the Chicago Tribune covered us!
- If you would like to help with the next ride (there are numerous ways to help out), you can join this planning group

(7/6/12)

We are almost there! Only 3 days until we ride.    At 10 am we will have snacks, coffee and a short tour at DIC.  At 10:30 we are off! Anshe Emet and Moishe House are covering part of the cost for lunch at the clocktower in Lakeview around 12.   We are asking $5 to cover the rest so everyone can eat.  Any extra money will go towards planning and food for future rides.  It will all be vegetarian.  See you at 10 am at DIC!

(6/22/12)

We will meet at the Downtown Islamic Center at 10:00 am,  ride by 3 synagogues and the American Islamic College in Lakeview East.  We will end our ride with a picnic and conversation in a nearby park.

BACKGROUND

The Jewish-Muslim Community Building Initiative, (JMCBI) is partnering with The Chainlink to bring you a special interfaith experience. Join Jewish and Muslim friends for a tour by bicycle of some of Chicago's mosques and synagogues.

Everyone is invited!

On Sunday, July 8, Jews, Muslims, and all interested others will saddle-up for a leisurely group bike ride around Chicago.  Along the route, riders will stop together at significant community landmarks like synagogues and mosques.

TheChainlink.org connects people in Chicagoland through bicycling.

JMCBI, an initiative of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA), upholds the aim of bringing Jews and Muslims together to make a better, shared life in the Chicago area.

Julie... do you have some spare "chainlink" bookmarks that you could bring to this event? Thanks! -b

Hmmm. Not sure you should have mentioned this. Now I have a real dilemma. Do I go on the ride or learn how to knit a colorful sweater before fall arrives?
