I agree, John. I was simply there to pay my respects and show support from the local biking community. Hector's family & friends were an amazing group to behold. I even spoke with Hector's mother who told me of his love for biking and how he learned to ride as a boy. The paper lanterns were the highlight of my night out.

It was a beautiful memorial. Hector's friends and family were all super-nice people and they seemed to appreciate the handful of cyclists  who were there to show support. They lit a bunch of paper lanterns and sent them soaring into the sky in Hector's honor.

Sorry I didn't make this. Riding alone for an hour in new snow - I wussed. I am so glad some of you attended and you were all in my thoughts.

I could lead a ride to the memorial from Daley Plaza or Logan Square. Let me know if there's any interest in this.
