In 2019, Friends of Big Marsh is launching a new campaign: Leaving the Nest, Taking Flight. Please join us to support the further development of Big Marsh Park as a centerpiece of the Calumet Region!
-Leaving the Nest - Imagine the nearly 300 acres of Big Marsh being accessible through a multi-use trail, multiple links between the North and South end of the park, and nature play spaces for young ones.
-Taking Flight - Friends of Big Marsh are working towards building 9 paths for mountain biking on the Big Hill, an expansion of single-track from the existing 2-miles to 9 miles, and a child-friendly beginner pump track.
These park improvements, and more will continue to transform Big Marsh Park into a jewel of eco-recreation in the Calumet Corridor!
To make this possible, Friends of Big Marsh requests the support of the community. A young foundation founded by an engaged philanthropist who has historically been committed to expanding greenspace for the population of Chicago has pledged $500k to match all incoming donations. FoBM recognizes this awesome opportunity and responsibility to build something outstanding with our Southeast Side communities.
FoBM is kicking off this campaign with a party at Lagunitas Tap Room on 1/29/18. We will have delicious food, and great company. We look forward to seeing some old friends from the Chainlink! Tickets and sponsorships available here. Contact paul at bigmarsh dot org for more information.
