Description

No, this isn't about admitting to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

It's about trying to ride to Three Floyds every month this year. Now there's a consistent schedule -- the 4th Saturday of every month -- others have opportunities to lead (I can't make it every time), and you can qualify for the F-12 Award.

The ride takes the lakefront trail south from the Clock Tower. You can join up anywhere along the trail. Just let the group know where so they can look for you.

45 miles total if you take the Metra back, 70 if you ride both ways. 16-19 mph. I like to get there before they open at noon (it's the third-best brewery in the world, so sometimes there's a line). Bring money, government-issued ID, a lock, water and snacks to have en route, and panniers for beer you can't get in Chicago.

Online resources: Google map, cue sheet, Metra schedule, Metra rules, and, to save a minute at the start, the nifty online CCC waiver.

Ifi, Brett and I are leaning on riding back. Worst case scenario is we ride to red line 95th st.

How many are thinking of riding back?

skim, maybe the group will be ready to leave by 2? it's hard to predict, plus you're free to leave whenever. i'm thinking i might aim for the 3:10 train.

rene, of those on tap now, my own favorites have been Dreadnaught, Alpha King, Snow Weasel, and Cimmerian Sabertooth Berzerker. Dreadnaught, Zombie Dust, and Alpha King get the best ratings and so i guess are the "proven favorites".

I'm the other rider that will be with Brett waiting on 31rst Street just before 9:55am. Bob—Suebi Doo sounds yummy but which is the proven favorite I should try? Never been to 3Floyds and had not had much of their beer.

Asking for a friend, what time do we typically come back either via bike or train?

sounds good! and thanks for being specific about where you'll be.

Two of us are going to meet up with you at 31st Street Beach House. The cue sheet says you'll be there at 9:55, we'll be there early enough so you don't have to wait, just south of the 31st Street underpass. Cheers!
