Description

Since the dawn of man, gathering around the fire has provided survival and socializing.  In the depths of winter, we gather with friends after riding to fight the darkness and ennui.  Join British Bikes of Chicago as we proudly host the third Cozy Hearth Tweed Ride to help us get through it yet again.

The ride this year will not only be longer than 2.7 miles, but take us from Edgewater to Ukrainian Village.  Stops along the way each have a fireplace for the warming of toes, with boisterous conversation and friends aplenty.

Dig out your heavy woolens, hunting socks and snappy headwear to prevent frostbite.  No need for artificial fibers, as we aren't going windsurfing.

We do have a good time:

I always remember these things too late! I might not have time to get a tweed outfit together, but if i can, I'll be there!

I have to work and will be joining after 6 or 7; where should the ride be then?

Can't wait.  I'm wearing all SYNTHETIC fiber based clothing.

Awesome.

I will also have to join mid-ride.  So, I'll be on the lookout for some Sherlock Holmes looking motherfuckers!

Did someone say, "free peanuts?"

Comment by John on February 1, 2012 at 6:28pm

For those of you who might attend - did I mention the free peanuts at Moody's?

Updating the start time to noon, as many riders have lunch at the starting point.  The weather forecast doesn't give much reason to try to leave around 1:30, but it is worth a try.
