Oops, maybe I wasn't supposed to post this, but lets let it ride. After realizing conflict with ride of silence, BtG meant to cease publicity of this event, but planned to be there anyway in case anyone came.

Knowing that I'd have to be there (as a BtG BoD member), I also announced this opportunity to my huge mailing list: "Naked Ride helpers are welcome to come and chat and plan. Ride of Silence is same evening; maybe come after if you're in that." - So I at least will be at Quenchers, probably 7-10pm in case anyone comes.

BtG now plans to advise anyone who comes of the option to join the RoS en-route from Quenchers, and some board members may join as well.

Kevin wrote this very nice apology, which I've gotta believe is OK to cross-post:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The BTG Board made a mistake in scheduling our first of a monthly series of happy hour gatherings for May 19th. You see, the BTG Board typically meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. So, when we decided to hold this event, we thought we'd just schedule it on the same date as our May Board meeting. Nobody thought to check with other bike community calendars for conflicting events.
Then, after we'd passed out a number of flyers at April's Critical Mass, one of us realized the conflict with Ride of Silence. We were torn on whether to cancel our event or go through with it. You must know that it isn't a matter of respect -- of course BTG's Board supports and respects the Ride of Silence event. We simply made a scheduling mistake, and we will not let something like this happen again.
On behalf of the BTG Board, I personally apologize to you and to the organizers of Ride of Silence.
All the above notwithstanding, if you're NOT in the ride of silence and interested in hanging with like minded radicals, or if the RoS ends with return travel time to spare, or whatever, do come to Quenchers and have a beer, and snag a stack of naked ride flyers.
