Description

Join us for an evening of Bike Winter Poetry & Cinema, this event is "open mic" and "open projector", as we encouraged any and all bike lovers to share their poems, short stories and films. This year we will commemorate the passing of a great work of art, Berwyn’s fallen Spindle (aka “Car Kabob”). Despite a valiant attempt by Chicago’s Critical Mass to Save the Spindle, the dark forces of indifference, convenience, and profit convened to destroy an American icon to make room for just another Walgreen’s drugstore. Check out video of last year’s open mic night.

Do you biaku?
Have a poem or story or song about biking?
Step up to the mic!

JUST IN! Al Scorch is gonna play a couple of his crowd pleaser banjo tunes as a teaser for the big musical finale of the art show!

If you missed the opening of the Bike Winter Art Show last Friday, stop by the Flat Iron Arts Building Thursday evening for a cabaret style evening of bike puppetry, poetry, readings, and music. We'll be serving drinks for a small donation, so belly up for a shot of Bike Love and soak in some cycling culture in between the ATA mixer and the Chainlink's 1,000 member party at Nicks.
