18th Annual Pumpkinvine Bike Ride

The Pumpkinvine Bike Ride meanders past Amish farms and down a partially shaded trail spotted with wildflowers. Cruise on roads beside horses and buggies past traditional farms with sheep, cattle and newborn foals in summer pastures. Generous SAGs at Middlebury and Shipshewana serve drinks, fruit, energy foods and cold cut sandwiches. End your ride with the usual pie and ice cream. The experience is great for all ages, so children are welcome. Ride proceeds will support construction of the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail. Camping and showers will be available at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds.

You can also register to bicycle to the Carriage House, an Amish home near Topeka, and enjoy a hearty Thresher’s Dinner on Friday evening, June 16.
