The Chainlink

With crazy blizzards, slippery streets, and sketchy commutes, who finds alternatives to riding the streets?

I love riding on snow during a cyclocross race. It is challenging and very rewarding to negotiate the turns without sliding out.

That said, I'm seeking much of my saddle time inside to prepare for Barry Roubaix in March. Every week I do two PWP classes with Kristen Meshberg and a spin class (lots of out-of-the-saddle climbing!) at my gym.

My favorite winter outdoors activity is cross country skiing.

Do you find alternatives in the winter time? What do you do to get your bike fix?

Cook County Forest Preserve trails.

Note in the second half the tire impressions left by the outbound trip.
