More interesting to me than top speed is what they had to do to the bike so it could get there.

Yes they had to mess with the frame a lot but very surprising to me is that the tires, forks, rims, hubs and the like look off-the-shelf stock. I mostly want to know if the tires are filled with air or if they are solid or are filled with a gel or liquid.  The speed of acceleration would induce some crazy shearing forces that I would have thought would rip the tires apart.

Itis not what is in the tires that make the difference but the casing and profile of the tire.

Land speed record tires are all pneumatic.

If ever there were a picture in need of captioning....

The thing about this 'bike' is that much of the bikes features are not used, you couldn't pedal this thing, the redundant handlebars and breaks, the pointless gearing....there must be some minimal qualifications that must be met for a 'bike' to be considered a 'bike'. At some point you start stripping off parts and it no longer qualifies for the category.

I'm caption stumped.

uh..breaking wind?  Pun intended.

Yeah. Weak by comparison. I guess if you want to look like you've got a tube shoved up your butt with gusto, you might as well own it .
