The Chainlink

Dear all -- just discovered this morning that 3 of my bikes were stolen over the weekend while I was away. Owww. Someone got into the storage room where I and many of my neighbors keep our bikes and just walked out with a bunch. I normally lock 'em down; didn't do it before I left; now they're gone.

I've registered with the Stolen Bike Registry and am about to file a police report.

Dang. Sorry about your luck. Here's your list of things to do...

I'll keep a look out.

I am sorry for your loss  :(

Dang, that Lemond will stick out.  Where were they stolen from?

Thanks all.

They were stolen right out of the basement storage room. 2 of my neighbor's bikes gone, too. 2 of the 3 I always lock down -- except this past week. I just got plain frickin' lazy and didn't do it after my last ride. Ugh.

I've registered these on the stolen bike sites, gotten a police report, gone around to local stores/pawn shops, and am now posting on the facebook stolen bikes page.

I hope I get 'em back, but I'm not counting on it.

Hoping you get them back. It's slim, but once in awhile they do get back to their original owner.

Sorry for the loss Charles, let's hope the bike thieves get caught. To all: Leave your bike/Lock your bike !

Charles, what area of Chicago?  Perhaps some local Linkers can keep an eye out and an ear to the ground.

Rogers Park. As you said earlier, the Lemond is a 2004 and has that unique (and sorta ugly) decal scheme. There are lots of Crosschecks and Steamrollers, like Honda Accords.

Sigh...

Oh man, there has been increase of theft in Rogers Park in recent months...  Usually I see one or two  a month on the stolen bike registry but this month, seems like a larger numbers than usual.
