An Evanston children's librarian got killed right in front of the Evanston library as she was crossing the street on her bike. So sad.

so sad.

horrible.  just awful.

She turned out of bike lane in front of library and was struck. No ticket for motorcyclist. Are there no witnesses?

This has haunted me. My wife had a doctor's appointment across the street from the library and came upon the scene after the accident. She saw the emergency vehicles and the bike and motorcycle lying on the roadway. A car was also hit.

Heartbreaking news. I'm sure it wasn't easy for Ellen to come across that scene.

This is why I think most people should be wearing helmet cams.

Helmets can help in many situations, but they're not a universal solution.

The Evanston Review has a story about the victim.
