Blue Moon Bikes out in Sycamore specializes in Stingrays. http://bluemoonbikes.com/

They could probably answer your question and they have a TON of parts, both used and New Old Stock.

I tried again and it does spin and brake, just don't spin aslong as the front. Is it suppose to.

Sorry bout the email,i'm new.

The owner of Bike Works in Peru has a collection of coaster brake hubs, perhaps they could help.

Harper's Schwinn Cyclery in Muscatine, IA has been around for a long time, might be a parts source.

As mentioned by Grace, Blue Moon Bikes is one of the local authorities on Stingays.

The other great resource for Stingray restoration is Barnard's Schwinn in Oak Park.

Those two shops are the only places I have gone to for help with my '68 Apple Krate and Stingray Fastbacks.

Also, there are a number of members over on the forums on RatRodBikes that have experience with vintage part rebuilds. Maybe post up a question over there?

How does the hub differ from a modern hub? Is it similar to a common bearing system? Are you sure you're not missing  lock-nut to hold a cone in place?

Lock nuts on.Spins good without brake shoes and retarder/clutch.
