You mean a custom build or a boxed bike build?

Boxed.

Call around, but $100 seems to be the ongoing standard at most places.

It's on the upper end, but there are some shops that charge more. The lowest I've seen is $40.
i can assemble a bike for $50. any takers?
I'm building a custom (fixed gear) bike, and I'm going to need someone who has the tools to, and is capable of, putting in bottom brackets and headsets and all of that fun stuff. Is anyone on here incredibly experienced with this, and doesn't charge a lot? I'm already absurdly set back from buying the frame, wheels, crank-set, and well, everything. I will give you some money and a homemade vegan meal if you want! :-)
why dont you join the build a bike class at west town? the new session starts tomorrow. nothing better than building your own set of wheels!

Thanks Jen, that sounds awesome! Unfortunately, my frame and some components haven't come in yet, so I can't start that course tomorrow. Also, I don't have $200 right now. I really would love to assemble the whole bike myself, but I know I would screw something up, and I don't have all of the necessary tools, just basic tools...

just go to west town during their open build... it'll cost a fraction of what a shop would charge
If I bring a new frame to west town can I use their frame prep tools? face the head tube, face / chase the bb?

Yes, but kick them some cash, eh?
