There is plenty of clearance with this frame.  It originally had tubulars but they allowed for plenty of clearance back in the day.  The only tight spot for the fender is the added brake-booster arch on the front brake.   Brake reach for the front it exactly 61mm and just barely fitted the Dia Compe 610 brake. The rear was tad longer and I needed to use a 750 instead.

So James, how the devil did you get 35mm tyres AND mudguards on that frame?
