Location: Chicago
Members: 30
Latest Activity: Feb 10, 2015

Seeking to foster networking between such people, and to learn of the issues effecting them. I see this as an inevitable growth industry locally, having seen it in high use outside the US, and am impressed by the individuals I've seen doing it in Chicago. If you HAVE DRIVEN a pedicab or OWN one or more please join this group.

Support pedicabs at the May 2014 Chicago Critical Mass bike ride! The new pedicab ordinance passed by the City Council will impose unfair restrictions on pedicab drivers, including a ban on Michigan Avenue & State Street (from Oak to Congress) and a ban in the Loop during weekday rush hours. In addition, other rules in the ordinance will result in many pedicab drivers losing their jobs.

If you have a pedicab, please bring it to Mass. If you want to be a passenger on a pedicab during this ride, get in touch.

To support pedicab drivers organizing for their livelihoods & to improve the industry, please follow the Chicago Pedicab Association on FB and Twitter (@ChicagoPedicabs), and contact ChicagoPedicabAssociation@gmail.com

(*Note: this is being organized independently of CPA)

any pedicabs coming to the Ride of Silence? We have a banner that we may need a space to fly during the Ride of Silence -back of a pedicab?

The Chicago Ride of Silence is seeking someone with a bike trailer to pull a ghost bike in the procession during this year's Chicago Ride of Silence on Wednesday evening (May 16) - contact Elizabeth directly if you can assist - (elizabeth@rideofsilence.org).

Also - feel free to display any/all ROS signage on your "rig" - we do not have dedicated signs but we welcome your contribution to promote the cause.

Interested in starting a Pedicab as a way of getting side money.  Is there anything legally I need to be aware of if I were interested in purchasing my own pedicab and starting that way?

Gabe fractured his kneecap on Wednesday night and is having surgery tomorrow (Friday) morning to repair it. It is unlikely that he will be able to pedal a bike by Saturday what with the cast he's going to be wearing and all. He had hoped to attend the Santa Rampage on Saturday. If he goes, (though that would probably be nuts) it'll have to be by PediCab. We've got a relay team of riders, but how do we get one? Ideas?

Hope we have some pedicabs riding with us tonight. Maybe you can pull someone unable to ride.

Tonight is the annual Ride of Silence - see you at Daley Plaza for a 7pm departure.
