Description

Remember, Remember!

The fifth of November,

The Gunpowder treason and plot;

I know of no reason

Why the Gunpowder treason

Should ever be forgot!

Stops Including

(in this order):

The Aberdeen Tap

440 N. Aberdeen

(meet here around noon and leave by 1:30pm SHARP)

The Bucktown Pub

1658 N. Cortland

The Beer Bistro

1061 West Madison

Simone's Bar

960 W 18th

Bubbly Dynamics

1048 W 37th St

(Burn, Baby, Burn after Sundown!)

It's guaranteed to be a most wonderful occasion but a crisp yet warm day is predicted so prepare accordingly. Also some other tips to make this bummel ever-so enjoyable:

  • We have a goodly number of stops and a short day. We suggest bringing cash. Your transactions will be shorter at the bar.
  • Several establishments serve victuals as well as refreshments and it will be a LONG night. Do take advantage.
  • While we will providing a suitably visaged Guy Fawkes and the materials to immolate him, this is a BYOB bonfire. We suggest you prepare accordingly when we roll by several take-away libatory establishments in the Bridgeport area.
  • Finally ... gents why do some of you come on your CX bike, clad as lycra-louts? Please remember to match the ladies in their sartorial finery. Either a classic stead or wooly threads will do. Both would be exceptional indeed!

When you reach my Google page, the complete set of images does not always automatically load. Seems to be a new, annoying "feature" of the page. Click on the "All Photos" button in the upper left-hand corner to see all my images and movies pertaining to the ride.

My First Tweed Ride - I lost a light. I lost my hat. It took me two hours to get home. Yet it was still some of the most fun I've had on two wheels! Thanks for a great time!

I big, BIG THANKS to all those who participated.  A ride is only as good as it's riders and this one was fantastic! And I couldn't have done it without the maps of Carl Boyd, the shoulder of John Ladner, the dummy skills of Owen & Alan Boyd, as well as the transport of "Wrongway" Jourdaine and "Guy Hauling" of Notorious Dug & Charlie Rifenburg!
