Saw this one on the Wisconsin Bike Fed blog:

Unlike other incidents I've seen reported, this one appears to involve people who likely knew each other. The two were coworkers, both working for WS Packaging Solutions in Algoma, WI.

Tom A. K. started a thread about the Morris crash.

Perhaps we should use this thread as a place to mention any cyclist fatalities we see?

I think that's a good idea.

An update on the tragic crash in Michigan:

Police: Driver on drugs when he killed Michigan bicyclists

Pickett, 50, heard the charges during what was supposed to be a routine hearing about schedules in the case. A not-guilty plea was entered.

Separately, a judge granted a request by defense lawyer Alan Koenig for a mental-health exam. The exam will determine whether Pickett understands the charges and can assist his attorney. It likely will put the case on hold for two months.

Three more fatalities, two in SF, CA, one in Pleasanton, CA, as reported by Richard Masoner in Cyclelicious.

Please bear with me as I experiment with the idea of at least publicizing all cyclist fatalities I encounter. The idea is that they serve as a trigger for many, semi-impromptu, tribute rides. This appears to be a bad week (at least I hope it's an aberration). If not, then every ride will be a tribute ride. sigh...

26-year-old Kate Slattery was killed last night, 22 June 2016 she was safely riding her bicycle and was struck by a speeding SUV running a red light at the intersection of Howard and 7th Street in San Francisco, California

"I am sorry"

This is by an eyewitness of the crash that tried to help Kate Slattery after she was hit by the SUV.

Two more fatal crashes involving motorists yesterday:

Later reports state the Washington, DC victim as Jerrel Robert Elliott, age 23. The driver fled the scene. I've not seen any indication that he or she was apprehended.

Another reference for the DC crash.

Original link for Amanda Phillips crash is busted. This one seems to work.

35 year-old William B. Davis, Boulder, CO killed in a hit-and-run June 25.
