Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Amtrak to Grand Rapids isnt great; its somewhat better to Kalamazoo.

Wow. I'm guessing each color is a different day?

Check the schedules.  Its pretty useless.  Only one train a day.  Looks like it departs Chicago at 630 PM and then  return trains are at 6 AM.

A trip like that would be better with an overnight stay! Gives more time to ride around and explore a bit.

Wouldn't all these require overnight stay?

Another option for longer-distance beer rides:  Take your bike on Amtrak trains to Grand Rapids.
