Stolen black Cervelo?

At about 7:05 tonight I saw a couple dudes riding South on California at Diversey. The guy in front was on a beat up fixie towing a beat up fixie beside him. The guy in back was riding a nice black Cervelo.

1) On the one hand, it's just two dudes with two shit bikes and one really nice bike.

2) On the other hand, if a couple of bike thieves were riding around and happened upon a nice bike to steal, they would look like these guys.

Why would assume that this bike was stolen? Aren't you profiling someone?

"Ghost riding" always raises suspicion. Especially when the bike shops are closed. Maybe he just bought the Cervelo $.
