I might be able to use the FSA Vero track. Will it function without the bashring, and can I replace it with a somewhat bigger ring if desired? It would be used to make a 1*9 with a chainguard
Does the BB have sealed bearings?

You can use it without the bash.  You would need shorter crank bolts however as it is just like running a double.  I have a similar setup like you mention on my wife's bike with a Sugino XD.

The BB is sealed bearings.

Truvativ Fived is sold and the Vero is pending.

Make an offer on the Alivio and Gossamer!

Vero is now sold.  Come grab the other two!

I have a Campy cyclocross group with 10 speed brifters for sale... but no Campy cantilevers to go with it.... offers?
