I rode. And got pushed off Hamilton Ave by a bully-driving an X5. Got in ~16 miles today.

I was just right except for my socks. Or shoes.  Either way my toes went numb.

Yay for all the folks who are out riding through the Winter!

I did my 8 mile ride to school/work today, and will be doing the same on the way back home in about an hour! Year round commuter here; I'm up to 112 miles or so for the year.

Twenty is my normal limit but this morning I made an exception expecting it to warm up today.  Glad to see it paid off.

It's 35° right now. Get Out There And RIDE!

Yeah ! Yea ! Yahoo ! SLUSHING around on my MTB !

Oh, you got teased but it was less the horse (which is awesome) as it was the chaps and the cowboy hat.

I rode again, about 45 miles so far this year riding, and around 15 or so running....yes I am one of those loonies.

Although I am finding that I am KOM on Strava for a few of segments because the fair weather folks are on trainers.  I am actually thinking about going for a bunch more this weekend if nothing but to hold onto bragging rights for a month or so before all the "pros" wander out of hibernating.

With the warmer weather, I did a 40mi early morning loop on some of the north shore bike trails to see what they looked like. Here are some photos on their condition if anyone is curious.  If you've got studded tires, there's some great ice-riding out there right now.  Otherwise, you'll probably want to be careful ;-).

Skokie Valley Trail, Highland Park.  Unplowed from Lake Cook to Old Elm Road. Rideable if want a technical challenge though:

Skokie Valley Trail, Lake Forest/Lake Bluff.  Plowed, but with lots of icy stretches to try out your studded tires. Quite fun actually.

North Shore Trail, Lake Bluff.  Plowed, packed snow/ice.

McClory Trail, Lake Forest, near Fort Sheridan. Mostly clear, but many icy patches.

Green Bay Trail, Highland Park. Unplowed/chopped up. Completely unrideable except maybe on a fat bike.

Green Bay Trail, Winnetka/Glencoe.  Plowed. Many icy patches. Quite fun with studs.

Oh, and this sunrise.   Get out there and ride!
