Today's morning frost was one of the most unique-looking frosts I have ever seen in my life. Nature: you are Artistic !

Another successful and enjoyable Amlings Toy Ride attended by several Chainlinkers.  Temperature was great, wind died down from early this morning, and we had just a little snow to make it feel like Christmas. The Marines (who all look like they are in eighth grade :-)) picked up over 1500 toys at Mystic Celt.  Put it on your calendar for next year:  December 11, 2015

It was a great ride. It was nice seeing you, Josh, and a bunch of other people I see around regularly but don't know personally. Special thanks to the guy nice enough to bring several loaves of banana bread, it was tasty and went well with the coffee.

I finally got my gear changing cable replaced.  I feel like I have a Jaguar for a bike--I need two of these bikes:  one to keep in the shop and the other to ride.  It's my own fault for pinching the cable when I changed the kickstand.  But wow, after not riding for over a month, riding 11.5 miles with my son in the WeeHoo, even against a gentle wind, was one of the hardest rides I remember in recent memory.  But it was great to be outside riding again.  Can't wait until they finish the Navy Pier flyover.

Trust me, you need more than two! In fact, it is fairly well known that you need to maximize N+1 without exceeding S-1.

I am currently at N=8 (not counting bikes that don't count), with the frame for #9 on the way. Still married. :-)

I had a nice problem this morning with deciding on what to wear!

Ditto! On both count!!!

DAMN NBC truck and awning setup! I wanted to stop and take a picture, but there was someone else already arguing with them.

Pleasant, damp ride ride in on the LFT.

EXCEPT.

That goddamn NBC truck and van blocking the entire trail at north ave for no discernible reason. Why the hell do they think they can do that?
