It was an amazing ride. I was blown away by the number of people who came out in spite of the not-so-pleasant weather. Had a lot of good conversations, visited some locations I hadn't seen in a while and discovered some new places. Looking forward to the next ride.

Hey Anne - Thanks so much, we dearly appreciate you riding with us. By the way, I just watched the interview that you did at the church. Loved it, awesome! Look forward to riding with you again soon. Be well...

Slow Roll is a great way to promote the message that bikes are for everyone.

Slow Roll had everyone:  Black, white, latin; women, men; a little one in a seat on the back of mom's bike, young teens, young women and men and somewhat older women and men.  Clearly bikes are for everyone. I am looking forward to the November 15 ride!

Hey Lisa - Thanks so much for the kind words. Diversity was very important to us when we first visualized the idea of Slow Roll Chicago. We are excited to see it play out in real life on Sat morning. Look forward to riding with you again on Sat, Nov 15!

We have more good news to share about your Slow Roll Chicago bicycle movement. Slow Roll Chicago has been selected as a finalist in a $1,000 grant competition hosted by the Bold Urban Renaissance Network and Burners Without Borders. The four finalists have all been invited to present at the Chicago Community Grant Salon scheduled for Wednesday, November 12 at 6:30pm in the South Loop (full street address available upon request).

Learn more about this grant opportunity HERE & HERE.

We will love for all of you to attend and please invite your family, friends, and network to attend as well. It is critical that we have our supporters in attendance, as everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to vote for the winner of the competition. In the event we are fortunate enough to win the competition, we will use this $1,000 grant to purchase some needed communications, safety, and bike repair/maintenance equipment. We will also use this funding on community outreach for our 2015 ride season next year.

Please do RSVP and ask your network to RSVP also via this Facebook Event Post. Go ahead and hit that invite button to share this incredible opportunity with your friends, family, and network on Facebook to attend as well.Should you not have a Facebook account and would like to RSVP, simply send us a message here on Tumblr or contact us on Twitter.

Note that there is a requested donation of $5 to $10 for admission to the Salon and this does include and awesome dinner as well.

Thank ya, let’s ride…
