Kinzie road construction is complete; smooth ride this morning.

10/1/14: Peoples Gas has created rough grooved pavement on two lengths of Damen between Pierce and Evergreen.

Peoples Gas construction continues moving south on Wabash. As of yesterday, they were working south of Madison.

Jackson from State to Wabash is ground down for repaving - watch for raised manhole covers.

I was riding north on Clark the other night and pulled up to a red light at the Newport-Sheffield mini-6-corners alongside another commuter. The whole intersection had been milled that morning, rough stuff. I waited at the light, but she dismounted and followed the walk signal across Newport, then Sheffield and was mounting up on smooth pavement precisely as I rolled through with the green light to compliment her strategy.

I passed by here @5pm and it looked like the southbound lane was getting paved.

Holy cow at the Dearborn Bike Lane this morning!

Construction vehicles obstructing, laying down new pavement(?) between Lake and Wacker. No signage directing cyclists elsewhere so I ended up right in the middle of this mess. Frustrating.

North of Randolph, outside Petterino's/Goodman Theater, the pavement has already been resurfaced and the bike lane markings are gone. Hopefully CDOT has its eye on this project and will replace everything immediately.

The eastbound lane of Armitage between Western and Damen is milled for resurfacing. Part of the westbound lane is also milled, and the whole thing will probably be milled down by tomorrow morning.

I've seen a few photos. Lake Kluczynski is gone!

Forgot to follow up that they did indeed fix up everything on Dearborn shortly after the repaving. Nice work by CDOT, I think!

The Morgan Street Bridge near UIC has reopened to car/bike traffic.
