There is always Rosebud Farms on 130th just outside Altgeld Gardens. Nah!  I will have to get going early enough to pick up more chocolate.

Oh man now I gotta figure out what I'm going to eat.... I kind of wish I had tuna now, honestly....

I may have spoken too hastily regarding your tuna. Good chocolate is a bit of a rarity in the food desert that is Pullman/Hegewisch/Roseland. Good chocolate is a delicacy incapable of being replicated south of 95th.

My tuna is Genova tuna, I will have you know.  However, I can be very happy with smoked fish so long as it is not smoked asian carp.  But how about the chocolate?

Any one of Calumet Fisheries' dizzying array of smoked fishes could kick your canned tuna's ass.

Ok, last minute prep. It's going to rain, but it'll be warm. I'll be wearing wicking material, 'cause that dries out fast when the rain lets up. Bring dry socks to swap out with wet ones from time to time.

Our pals at Argus Brewery are opening their doors to our soggy asses, but they can't feed us this year, so we'll have to bring our own. When we get a head count at the Fountain, we'll give Calumet Fisheries a call so they can be ready for us. Make it to-go and we'll eat at the brewery.

Bring water. Extra water. Bring energy bars, trail mix and cookies. And dry socks. And plastic bags for your phones and whatnot.

Excellent question Jared! This year's lunch plans have been somewhat in flux. Argus has three different promotional events occurring on Saturday (in Andersonville, Oswego, and Palatine). We are happy for the growth which they are enjoying and believe that their current success and growth is due in large part to the 12th Annual Perimeter Ride stopping there last year and bestowing our imprimatur. We were contacted by Argus this week and informed that we are welcome to stop there, but they don't have the staffing to feed us again. We were torn, because while they will not have food for us, they will have beer, and very good beer at that.

Sooooo... If you want to pack a lunch-pack a lunch. Target time for arrival at Argus is 12:30 pm or so (35 miles into the ride). Pick up options about half an hour out are Calumet Fisheries (we can place pick up orders from South Shore Cultural Center), or Skyway Doghouse at 95th and Ewing. As I recall, their chocolate shakes are bueno. Once we get to Pullman, food options are limited and mostly grim-Walmart or whatever you can find in the Citgo Foodmart on 111th street. Plan accordingly.

Is there a lunch stop this year?  Or do we have to bring lunch with us?

The weather forecast is for glorious riding weather for much of the day Saturday; upper 60's-lower 70's with partial cloud cover. There is a chance of heavy thunderstorms with damaging winds from 2-4pm and again at around 9:00 pm. Every effort will be made to ensure that we are indoors or cowering under some type of makeshift shelter if and when those weather conditions occur, but you should at least consider the possibility of bringing along some type of rain gear.
