I'm fine with the Thursday but would also prefer the Friday if Julie's willing to break from tradition. 8/22- same time same place? Or is this coming Friday preferred?

Howard, if you made an event for a friday it would likely help out the early week day risers.

Or i can just say "we're drinking here" again - that worked on monday.

Body recovered from Lake Michigan may be missing boater

A boater found the body of a man floating in the lake “some distance from shore” about 7:30 a.m., according to Chicago Police.

Police said the man may be 56-year-old Daniel Brown, who fell from a sailboat about 6:45 p.m. Saturday between Montrose and Diversey. However, the body has not been positively identified. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

People aboard the sailing vessel “Three’s Company” said Brown fell off the bow of the boat when a railing broke.

The five other people on the boat said they saw him resurface once, then lost sight of him as they tried to toss him a life ring, authorities said. They said Brown, who was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a grey T-shirt, was not wearing a life jacket.

According to the Coast Guard, the boat Three’s Company was “disabled” and was towed to Belmont Harbor.

A Coast Guard search for Brown was suspended Sunday afternoon.

Police said it was possible Brown tried to swim to shore, because he was a “strong swimmer and tri-athlete,” according to a missing person alert.

We can do both. I'm not available Friday so someone can organize and post. I'll update bar night to start at 8. Most people don't show up until then anyways on Thursday nights.

I am taking the position that a higher power looking at our world decided that she needed music, smiling faces, and laughter so she took Dan and Robin Williams this week. It is such a loss to we mere mortals.

My condolences to friends and family.

Heal well.

+1  Beauty and sadness in one thought.

Very sad.

So say we all.

Yes!  Proof that bikes play a large role in happiness.

And bikes.  Robin Williams was a huge bike guy as well.

Nah, let's stick with Thursday the 21st at Spyner's starting at 8.

I'll talk to the owner.

There's a folding table for food in the back. Anyone have a large format printer for a color poster or three?

Looks as though this weeks Marauders will be detouring. That's in planning.

I'm stunned and completely saddened. Dan was an early and enthusiastic supporter of The Chainlink, and he was an inspiration to me in those early months as he encouraged me to keep going. As time went on I got to know him as a friend, and I learned what a kind and warm-hearted person he was. I'm going to miss seeing his face when I'm back in town.

Dan, thank you for every smile and kind word. You've left a lasting impression on me and countless others, and we will miss you.
