The Chainlink

You know the one I'm talking about, a dirt track on the north side of the aquarium that is scary.

Who has a flat shovel (I don't) and half an hour this saturday morning??

I'll meet you there at 6AM and if a couple guys show up we can make that thing go away.  I know there is the whole 'lets call the aquarium and complain' but I think the best / easiest thing to do is just move it since no one really is going to otherwise, its been there for weeks.

Anyone feeling proactive?

You sure the Chicago labor unions won't step in and complain?  Maybe strong arm some people?

Any "Pictures" of da problem ? We gonna do da work in da dead o nite, just like we do dat Meigs field thing.

Why are you removing a "dirt jump" exactly?  Just because it's scary?

I don't understand the logic here.

It is mud that washed down onto the path around the aquarium.  It is pretty deep and when it is wet not only is it dirty but it sucks in your tires.  And when it is dry it is a rutted mess because people rode through it when it was wet.  And, it is sort of on a blind curve so if you don't know it is there, all kinds of swerving goes on when riders come up on it.

What you are describing is a fluvial deposit denuded onto the pavement after hydraulic erosion has occurred within the soil at the higher elevations to the sides of the path.

I thought this was about dirt jumps.

Thanks, that was a clear and concise description of the situation.

Perhaps if Haddon is looking for people to help with his "project" it might behoove him to describe said project properly and not assume that everyone rides that section of that path as frequently as he does.
