The Chainlink

Hi All,

Looking for a rim recommendation, it's a doozy.

I need a 26", 48 spoke hole clincher, the wider (35mm+) and beefier the better.  Preferably without eyelets, single wall would be fine.  Aluminum or steel.  Weight is irrelevant.

An un-drilled rim (no spoke holes) would work as well.

Thanks!

Why would you not want eyelets?

There are several Velocity options they can drill to 48 for you.

Because they will not accommodate 12 gauge nipples.

Plus, eyelets are added to support the area around the nipple, so that the walls can machined thinner to save weight.  I don't care about weight and would rather have thicker walls.

I suppose washers could be used, but drilling out the eyelets would be a pain in the ass.

The only option over 35mm  I see at Velocity is the "Dually" (45mm) which are $133 each plus whatever they charge to custom drill.  I should have mentioned I was that as an option.

Really, I was hoping someone might know of a beefy cargo bike/trike/trailer wheel for somewhat cheaper.

Thanks DUG.

Here you go...

Weinmann DM30

Should run $30 or less from most shops who are able to order it.

I'm hoping for something 35mm or wider, ideally 50mm or more.
