That rig looks familiar.  Do you ride down State Street a lot?  I usually pass a trike on my blue Surly with a yellow pannier.  I make occasional trips to Trader Joes for 3-4 jugs of their apple cider and some other groceries that totals maybe 30 pounds or so.

Last night I brought home a new TV and a 20 pound bag of birdseed on my trike.

Awesome!
I would have felt so smug if that was me :)

This was the beginning of December for us.  My husband had the brilliant idea of going to Costco for groceries before grabbing a 7ft Christmas tree.  That is a 50lb bag of sugar on the top of my rack.  One kid went on each bike for the ride home. We got lots of strange looks and plenty of clearance from passing cars.

Everyone passes me, the slow trike rider. That would be me. I travel State from North Ave to work at State and Erie and am most gratefull that I have a Trader Joe's 2 blocks away. Say hi next time. I am friendly.

I caught a squirrel in a cage like that. I put it in a trailer (a POC Bykaboose I think) and rode about  1 1/2 miles east to let it out at Dvorak Park.... but the cage was empty when I got there (for all I know it got out before I even left home...)

Had a chance to top off my smugness tank this morning when I walked out the door with my bike and noticed that our live trap had a rabbit in it. Changed my bike to the Halsted and rode the bike down the lakefront. Released the rabbit near the golf course. Hope he makes lot of friends there.

August 2013...45lbs of Pots & Pans

Last December. Sorry, I'm not much good at night-time photography.

Going home from the south loop Home Depot with super long pieces of wood to my downtown condo.

impressive. I hope you didn't impale anyone.  What streets did you take? How did you do it?

great use for a surly !!!! nice

Thanks. Lee Diamond suggested I put safety flags on each end. Not one single incident whilst traveling down Canal to Washington and then Wabash.

Had to unstrap the bungees from the bike in order to feed the lengths through the front door, into the lobby and then up 8 flights of stairs and finally twisting them into my unit. FUN
