Does anyone know if the North Branch Trail (at Devon) is flooded?

The warnings were great and that is one reason I took a detour around it.  :-)

I took a picture of the tunnel. It was really bad. The great thing about yesterday? Every cyclist was giving everyone heading to the tunnel warnings so that they wouldn't unknowingly ride into it.

I rode it on Sunday with one of my daughter's from Dempster to the Botanic Gardens - shortly before you get to Happ there is a 20-30 yard stretch that is completely covered and the tunnel, reportedly, under the Edens is very icy (we detoured up to Winnetka Road). Also near the Gardens there are several spots that are still covered.

North Branch of the Chicago river dirt trail :)

Which trail are you talking about?

I rode the trail from Central south to Pulaski yesterday, and it was obviously crazy muddy, but super fun.  I'll have to do some trail maintenance in a few weeks, there are a few trees that need to be moved off the trail

That looks like a DOT problem with drainage. Something may be clogged, the tunnel shouldn't be holding water.  Are there any signs or plates on the wall indicating what agency is responsible? They should be contacted to clear the problem.

Clear from Dempster Street in Morton Grove all the way to Devon on the Red Trail.

My dad broke his hip on the Green Bay Trail last year riding to work one morning.  It was  65 degrees out and still icey under the canopy of trees.

If only he has someone to warn him (someone had posted a warning on a thread here the day before).

He started riding soon after and a year later is back to riding to work!

Took the trail yesterday and that tunnel still has a patch of ice about 20 feet long and a good several inches thick. Use caution going through there. Other than that the trail was fantastic from Devon/Caldwell all the way to Botanical Gardens.
