The Chainlink

At the near west store. Small, couple different flash settings, those profoundly frustrating pin batteries so I figure they are near to disposable, still for a buck each I got 5.  Helmets sure, my new theory is that I don't even want to get into a situation where the helmet comes into play, better to have my whole bike glow like a light saber.

I wouldn't make that my only light, but as a supplement to brighter one, sure.   You can't go wrong for a buck.

Any idea why they are only for "guys"?

I bought a bike light at Target and all I got was This T-Shirt my identity stolen.

Why would women ride bikes?  It might mess up our hair/makeup/clothing!  Whereas road grime just adds legitimacy to a man's rugged good looks.

I've used this Target light before before; although I thought it was $3 when I bought it.  Decent enough as a backup light.  When it comes to "spare" lights (for when I accidentally forget my rechargeable badass blinding light), I keep one of these on my bike.  Waterproof so I don't have to worry about taking it off, and cheap enough that I can buy a pack of 5 and stick them in a drawer.

It's fifteen cents more (once you consider tax) and probably supporting slave labor in China... but I'm ok with that.

I bought a dozen of these from Amazon for $1.25 each including shipping.

They are identical to the ones sold in bike shops for $20 or so.  They are pretty bright and have a solid-on as well as two blinking modes.  You can buy white or red light versions and all sorts of different colored & shaped silicone rubber cover options.

The only issue is that they ship direct from China (I know, how can they do that with free shipping for $1.25???)  and they take a month to get to you.

Of the 12 I bought one had a dead battery.  It must have turned on in the envelope they shipped in.  The Battery is a standard CR-2032 battery and simple/cheap to replace if you buy in bulk for $0.21/each.  I really can't call that a hardship.

Between the dozen lights and 25 batteries I spent well under $20 for year's worth of bike lights.  That's less than one hipster meal-ticket.  No excuses for riding like a ninja at night...

I think its a great gift for guys.  all guys love bike lights even ones who don't ride bikes.  we use them as strobe lights for dance parties.  only guys do that.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,

I'm a woman's man: no time to talk.

Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive -with my bike light!

The 'guys' tag was on the image I pulled from 'google images', I didn't see the sense if taking a photo, emailing to to myself all that when I could drag and drop.  No sexism intended, apologies.

No worries.  I thought it was funny, and amazing that in this time a company would advertise bike lights as a "great gift for guys".

Too Funny.  To think that someone translated this and didn't change it.  Still, doesn't rise to estoppel. ;)

Nice buy. I might pick up a couple of these to leave in my pack for back ups or mount them sideways for better visibility.
