Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator

Working Bikes is looking for a part-time (<18 hours a week) volunteer coordinator.

The ideal candidate will have bike shop experience as well as an enthusiasm to teach and work as part of a dynamic team.  Job duties include managing our 3 weekly “walk-in” volunteer sessions (Tuesday 5-9pm, Wednesday 12-5pm and Saturday 12-5pm), developing engaging workshops to educate our volunteers, and maintaining a clean and organized workshop space.  Bikes built by volunteers are donated to local organizations and individuals in need; the Volunteer Coordinator will ideally increase volunteer capacity to build bikes.   Please note: this job is currently only funded through December 2013.  Future employment will depend not only on successful development of volunteers and workshop space, but also Working Bikes’ ability to secure funding.   Pay is $13/Hr.

Working Bikes is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which recycles 8,000+ bicycles a year through refurbishment and redistribution both international and local.

Our organization is committed to diversity in both its work and staffing with regard to race, ethnicity, gender identity, nationality, age, physical ability, religion, and sexual orientation.

Interested candidates should send their resumes and a cover letter to Paul@Workingbikes.org
