yeah i wouldn't hold my breath on that one. my commute features a pothole that actually pierces the entire concrete into the sewer or whatever is down there.

OK, from what I could tell, a Coke bottle delivery truck sideswiped a Windshields-R-Us truck in the southbound bike lane on Elston south of Damen, and then they kept trading paint all the way to Division.

Seriously, there's a lot of glass out there.

I saw it. Hilarious! That thing has been slowly growing all winter, it looked like someone finally had enough.

Good advise, Joe! Did anyone else see the huge pothole at Lincoln/Ashland/Belmont this morning? You know, the one with a city trash can in the center as a temporary filler?

I think we survived winter! Am I being too optimistic? There are definitely things I will miss about biking in the winter, but I'm excited at the idea of warmth and colors other than white and gray. I've certainly seen a lot more cyclists out there the last few days! So nice to have company waiting at lights again, although most around me end up running them :) Anyway, I'm so hopeful that spring is here that I put together a fond pictorial farewell to winter biking on my blog. http://letsgorideabike.wordpress.com/2009/03/09/we-biked-the-whole-winter/

I rode home from work in minor snow (5 miles down Clark from Evanston). It wasn't too bad.
Stopped at home for 20 minutes to set up my DVR before heading down to Performance to pick up my order. Going down was crazily snowy(very alert, watching headlights), and I took the train home from Belmont because my brain was frozen.

Sorry about the black ice Norm. I hope you didn't get hurt too badly.

Anybody Ride home tonight, No one told me about the Black Ice in Lake Zurich. I'm still smiling about ride home tonite. I only fell once. Damn Black Ice. I faired better than the Tahoe in the ditch with the smashed front end tonight in barrington on Ela Road. As I pull up the Police has all traffic stopped as a tow truck is pulling the tahoe out. The Cop turned around and saw me and said "go Ahead You can go Thru". I thanked him and pedaled on my merry way.
