I've seen "Bill Cunningham New York" and thought it was a fantastic documentary. Wouldn't consider it a bike film. It's mainly about the really great fashion photographer Bill Cunningham. It's worth watching even if you aren't into fashion. Netflix it.

Re:  Bill Cunningham - It's streaming on Netflix too.  Make it a netflix double feature and watch it with Page One (also streaming).  And then go pay for your online NYTimes.

One more film streaming on Netflix - Hell On Wheels, a TDF doc following the 2009 (?) T-mobile squad.  Pretty good.

Go Woody, go!

Watched this years ago and remember liking it.

Exactly. The bikey content is tiny. The film shows that Cunningham rides a bike pretty much everywhere he goes, which is great - but it is just transportation for him. The documentary is awesome, but it is not a bike film.

Flying Scotsman - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472268/

You also can't forget Pee-Wee's Big Adventure - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKLizztikRk

I could go on....

There was that horrendous Kevin Costner movie, "American Flyers."

In the documentary vein, Iowa PTV produced a one hour documentary on the phenomenon that is Ragbrai in 1996.  It wasn't very well done and it's doubtful you can find it anywhere.  I used to have it on VHS, I wonder what I did with it.

I am the promoter for Bicycle Dreams (www.bicycledreamsmovie.com) and the chainlink just teamed up with me to bring this film to the ViaDuct on Feb. 16. Check out the Events Calendar on the chainlink site for all the details and please start spreading the word ... this event may sell out in a matter of days.
