Hi folks. Just wanted to announce that Comrade Cycles, a full-service bike shop, will be opening at 1908 W. Chicago Ave. Chicago, IL 60622 in March of 2012. The owners; Steve Parkes, Bailey Newbrey, & Jesse Hautau would love it if you stopped in to say hello.

Awesome! That's right down from the street for me, and I'm excited to see you guys in March. This stretch of Chicago Ave is in need of a good bike shop.

this might seem like some finicky minutae questions but do you have any plans for stocking Reelights? I'm thinking about picking up some and I think they'd be a cool thing to stock.

Anthony; we look forward to meeting you as well! Chances are that if you've been around other area shops we may already know each other if only by face/bike.

Peenworm; yes! We certainly are looking at getting those and other non-battery powered lights. We'll also be carrying some budget minded battery powered lights.

It's really not much of a shop. Their sister shop is located at Western & Bryn Mawr. They have no presence in the community. Their techs aren't very. Little inventory just not much going on inside. They just sort of exist & were hoping to capitalize on the biking but lack any business savvy. I am afraid they really have no reason to exist.

Good luck, it appears that you guys are light years ahead of this bike shop:

They are failing, and they don't even know why...

Hi Steve, Bailey & Jesse,

Looks great I wish you all well. At least you guyz are biz savvy & mega skilled. See you soon.

Just wanted to clarify that Carrie's statement isn't about Comrade Cycles!

Thanks for the support everyone, our shop is looking better every day and we have been meeting lots of folks as they pass by and chat us up.

Check out our new logo, just in time to get everything ready for our March 1st opening.

March 1st, AWESOME! Just in time to get new parts for the summer bike. If you guys are planning on stocking the Black Omniums that would be really freaking aces man. Can't wait for you guys to open. Now my two biggest obsessions, records and bikes, can be fed within a block from each other.

Hey Adam-

Email us through our website, and we'll have it waiting for you March 1st.

We've got a few photos of the shop and some bike builds on our updated website if you'd like to check them out.
