Oboi, as I am sure you know, Critical Mass is the last Friday of EVERY month.  There is still time for your dream to come true.  I would love to join you and see the mass head south!
Oboi - I'm glad that you got out to ride. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, and thanks for the shout out.  Keep on riding!
I would also be up for a Mass that makes it to Bronzeville!

I have been doing the Mass since... probably April of this year.  What kind of rider numbers are expected through the next few months?  This will be my first Bike Winter so I will be at the rides.

I need to find out where the heck Bronzeville is!

As is the case with many Chicago neighborhoods, there are different opinions about what the borders of Bronzeville are, but it's safe to say that 35th and King, where the Black Doughboy Monument, the historic Supreme Life Building and 14-foot a bronze map detailing the history of the community stand, is a key location. You can read some history of the neighborhood in my write-up of walking the length of King Drive:

Hey Michelle - Thanks so much for the support. I deeply appreciate your kind words. The dream lives on! I am thinking about the November ride later this month. Will see about getting a route posted to The Chainlink by end of next week. Thanks again and look forward to riding together soon!

Nice write up. Don't give up on the Soutside route, just keep working on the map and set a goal of getting Mass to ride your SS route some time in the near future.

Thanks Oboi. Many other Chicago street walk write-ups are up on my old blog Vote with Your Feet. Look for a write-up of my walk down Madison Street soon on Grid Chicago.

Here's a route I cam up with a few years ago:

I've resubmitted it in various forms for Black History Month but it's never won.
