Please make your suggestions or votes for a July ride as quickly as possible.  It would be fantastic to get a couple months ahead in our ride planning which will make promotion easier and more effective.

I'm suggesting May 14th as the cutoff for picking the July location.

Let's go around Truman College and hit on those side streets.

I kinda don't like kids so as far away from me as possible! Ha! I kid, I kid.
If someone could please send me an pdf file on this ride in A.P. I'll send it to different Community Centers, Health clinics etc that I have contacts & they'll print these out to pass out for us.

You may send this at: Tony@AlbanyParkBikes.org

When in doubt … ride your bike, or at least write about it.
Tony-
Thats great! Getting fliers out will be so helpful and I know you have lots of contacts at the local health and community centers.

Folks are putting out possible routes. Do you have any thoughts to add to this?

Buddaa38- good point that the lakefront bike path is very crowded on weekends; but my route proposal starts in the heart of Lincoln Park and takes advantage of the (slower traffic, less congested) Stockton & Cannon Drives that loop & wind throughout the park, the zoo, the botanical garden and many playgrounds. So because of the high activity on the bike path traffic and the issues of the larger bike rigs not having easy access, I propose we eliminate the Lakefront bike path part and just focus on the drives, winding paths and neighborhood streets to playgrounds within Lincoln Park & the neighborhood itself. We could take Dickens through the neighborhood side streets to get to Oz Park as another kid-friendly destination; it has a great playground in it.

Jason,
This may sound harsh for you. I don't think that L.F.P. is a kind of place for a group ride. At 9:00a it's like driving on freeway in Cali. We could face serve accidents! Know 4/5 is possible.

If A.P.B. is working out for July, then this proposal below could transfer to August...
The parks around Stockton & Cannon are much less congested than the lakefront and would work better, although traffic on those streets can still be somewhat heavy and fast.

OZ park and the surrounding neighborhood streets are good. Perhaps starting there and riding around the neighborhood and maybe doing a loop around the south pond in Lincoln park might work out well.
I just realized that I will be out of town for the July ride. I can still help out with flyers and can definitely pass along some balloons to those who will be in attendence.
Tony (buddaa38) is organizing a meeting this Wednesday evening to plan this ride in Albany park. We need a starting location to make flyers, etc.
When is the meeting? I don't think I can make it, but you should send the info to the Albany Park Chamber of Commerce, they're really community focused and will publicize it. They're linked w/the North River Commission.

That's one of my contacts. Liz Griffiths which runs that helps. I also use Albany Park Community Center & others as well. You coming out for this ride? Also do you live in A.P.? I'd like to talk with you off line a bit. You may contact me at: ask for Tony(847)902-5668.
Thanks for some help
