Decals I can help with, there's a gent in Thailand who's sitting on the mother-lode. They must be from a former contract dealer for Raleigh. They're water-based so can be a bit difficult in application. He's here at eBay but do check out his other items. I've bought from him before so he's legit in my book!

That looks like it, exactly.

Now I just need to decide what to do with it...

I have a feeling trying to find 28" rims and rod brake parts is going to be a futile and frustrating venture; I am thinking coaster brake 3spd with a drum brake/generator front hub laced to 27" wheels and a fat tire should look close to right on it once I find fenders and a chain guard.

Does anyone know of a source for reproduction Raleigh stickers?

I would concur. I especially think it started its life as a rod-brake given the separate rear dropouts!

So I broke down and now own a 'proper' British bike, and I don't even plan to try and weld another one to it!

It's an unusual bike, allegedly a police model. Obviously stripped of most of the original parts and set up oddly (Shimano coaster 3spd and 27" wheels) it is a still a pretty neat bike. The crazy long fork rake, bolt in seat stays and horizontal drop outs are kinda different as well.

It also looks to be built a a 28" ISO 635 wheel as well.

anyone have any information on these? Suggestions on wheels that and tires that will closely match the originals but still look right?

Bring your own... catnip (and claritin)? Might drop by for this- sounds interesting! But mainly because I'm loooong overdue for a visit to Uncle Vanya. I miss the little bugger... almost miss his constant vocalizations, but definitely don't miss my constant sneezing in his presence (aCHOO!). I want to see how fat fat fat and happy his highness has gotten... but I know he's in good hands with Owen and Claire!
