The Chainlink

For those of you who haven't yet heard/seen about this, figured I would share. Earlier this morning I only saw the picture and was wondering if it was real or just some prank done with photo shop or something... Nope. It's real.

Why am I not surprised?
So who pays for this? Not only was there damage done to the house, it needed to be domolished! We're not talking paying to fix up the damage, we are talking paying to build a new house! And what about the belongings of the family living there? Is this to be covered by their renters insurance (assuming they had any)? Or will the city do the right thing and help out the church and the family?
...and these are the "drivers" we are dealing with on the streets of Chicago cycling every day....great pic though.

CTA bus? Giant hole in the wall? Yah that pretty much sums it up.

The only question I have is, did the passengers get a free transfer?
SUSPENDED WITH PAY?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Probably union rules, suspension with pay is probably a lot easier to do while suspending the driver without pay would probably require grievance hearings that would take a month or two.

Cheap crappy house can't even stand up to a little Bus.
Maybe this happened because the driver was having a health problem? Fainting? Seizure?

Hope it wasn't something stupid like the driver was on a cell phone at the time.
is that why the CTA needs to increase fairs?

"This is why I don't want the government running healthcare"

Really thats what this person came to from reading this article.
I feel sorry for the family living in that house. They lost their home, and you know we'll ultimately end up paying for a new house. Everyone loses.
